Parental Guidance - Age Rating

PG stands for Parental Guidance. Anyone can go and watch a PG film, when a child is 8 or over they are allowed to go and watch a film alone it’s when the child is younger than 8 it is advised a parent/guardian goes with them as the content on the film may upset them. The content does not change that much from a ‘U’ however there is allowed to be more violence but cannot go into any detail; any sexual natural (if there is any it can only be in a joking matter). If the film contains any sort of horror it is short lived as it may affect the children who are under the age of 8. Drugs are not allowed as they set of the wrong message; drugs are only allowed to be used if there is a strong anti-drug message or the drug they are taking is harmless for example vitamin C. Discrimination is not allowed at all this covers religion, colour, gender, sexuality or disability, it is only allowed if it is teaching the children the message between right and wrong or something historic is on the screen.
